THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Lecourbe and Cambrone are major shopping streets. You will find several Pharmacies, take out food shops, 2 large supermarkets, and miscellaneous boutiques. One block off of Lecourbe on the right is a post office as well as a rather wonderful restaurant that happens to be almost opposite it. On Blomet (left from Lecourbe) which takes you to Emile Duclaux , there is a piscine (swimming pool) which is open to the public, and a small intimate pocket size park and playground, as well as some smaller restaurants, hotels, and eating establishments. At the end of Blomet where it meets Cambronne you turn right towards Lecourbe and discover several dry cleaners
and various food markets. The fish market, bakeries, cheese shops, caves (wine) and vegetable sellers usually close between 1PM and 4PM and although open Sunday mornings will be closed all day Mondays.. The outdoor market takes place on Thursdays and The outdoor markets (like the one pictured above) are a great place for fresh foods, and other nick-knacks.
Saturdays on Ave Breteuil. At the end of Emile Duclaux where it meets Vaugirard is one of the BEST kept secrets in Paris...a bistro called Baribal. Portions are huge, prices are low, and the quality is great!
